Color Theory & Color Mixing 1   -  Virtual  Online Zoom Class

Color theory and color relationships is an integral part of art and everyday living. Join us as we explore COLOR!!  Learn how to create all those luscious vibrant colors you love.  Also, learn how to create captivating neutral tones

and muted colors.  Using watercolor paint as our medium, students will learn about color theory, color relationships and color mixing.

color mixing.  This class is a follow-up to Color Theory 1, we will continue our color study journey creating artworks

based on the theories and schemes we have practiced.

Learn to Weave on a Loom

Weaving is a centuries-old practice of interlacing yarn, or thread or almost anything, together to make woven pieces of fabric. When you Learn to Weave, you will be able to create textiles, wall hangings, tapestries, rugs, baskets, and jewelry.  

In this class, you will learn how to begin a weaving on your provided loom, the materials and supplies, how to create a variety of weaving patterns, fringe to weaving ratios, finishing a weaving, and how to take a weaving off of the loom.

When it comes to watercolor painting, there are many different techniques that can help you

create the effects that you are trying to achieve in your paintings. Join us as we learn, and

practice, different watercolor techniques. This session we will be learning, and practicing,

how to create different watercolor effects for skies.

Punch Needle

Learn to punch needle as we create a holiday-inspired artwork! Punch needle art is a simple form of

rug-hooking which uses a large needle-like tool to punch loops of yarn into your chosen fabric. You

will be able to create items such as cushions, wall hangings, hoop art, or upcycled clothing and bags!

Gyotaku  Japanese Fish Printing

Gyotaku is the traditional Japanese method of printing fish, a practice that dates to the mid-1800’s. This form of nature printing was used by fishermen to record their catches but has become a popular art form of its own.

In this class, we will use latex molds as our printing plates – not real fish!

There will be a variety of different fish molds to choose from, as well as other sea creatures such as starfish, seahorse, and seaweed. Students will learn about composition, color, and how to create a monoprint

using paint, Sumi ink and washi paper.

Sumi-e and Chinese Brush Painting 2

Join us on an artistic journey through art and culture. Chinese brush painting is a beautiful and unique style of artwork. In this class, students will have fun learning about and creating in this beautiful ancient style. Using only

three simple tools, ink, brush, and paper, students will learn to create captivating artwork using the beauty and freedom of the Sumi-e brush line, and the values created by the ink.
